"I am a complete novice to building my own network cables. I did spend a weekend trying to get this working with standard type of connectors. Spent lot of time but couldnt get it to work. Finally I did try the pass through connectors from VCE along with VCE's crimping tool. I was done in the first attempt without any wastage of connectors that I had to throw. It is so easy, wish someone would have told me this before. The only trick is that when you try to push the cables into the plug make sure that touch the cables to the surface of the plug (upper side) and then push it. This will keep cables intact till they reach the tiny holes. It is impossible to get the finger inside the connector and you will need to push the sheath. Price wise I have seen shielded connectors from kenable for a very very low price. That is the reason I have given 4 for price."

Ordered these after finding out that you can't fit a larger wire into a small hole. These RJ45 pass thru connectors work great and with the pass thru style, makes it much easier to see that the wires are in the right sequence before crimping. Ordered and received in two weeks.

If you;ve ever tried to build RJ45 cables with the old style terminals, where you have to trim the wire exactly to length and butt it to the end of the connector, you will absolutely love these. Well worth the few extra $.

Someone said these shield connectors do not fif CAT6, I have installed 5 piece.Fortunately,Each one fited well.I think the reason why the other brother said " not fit "may be because they didn't straighten the wire so that the wire can not pass thru the hole.Remember to straighten the wire and arrange it tightly!!The quanity is good.If you are making the cables,you will not miss this one.

"J'ai acheté ces connecteurs pour faire passer mon câble ethernet à travers le mur, sans avoir besoin de faire un énorme trou (en faisant passer à la fois le câble et l'embout du rj45). J'ai donc coupé le câble en deux et ai pris un paquet de 10 connecteurs, histoire d'avoir le droit de se planter. Coup de chance, dès le premier essai, le connecteur fait contact et mon ordinateur reçoit internet sans souci. Après plusieurs mois de test, je peux confirmer que ces connecteurs fonctionnent correctement, car je n'ai eu aucune coupure depuis l'installation ! Pour ceux qui n'ont pas l'habitude de sertir des câbles rj45, je vous conseille de ne pas hésiter à bien dénuder le câble, afin que les 6 fils arrivent bien au bout du connecteur et fassent contact. C'est souvent de là d'où vient le souci, lorsque la connexion ne se fait pas, une fois que tout est installé !"

They work great on CAT6 Cable. Very fast and easy to terminate cable runs using these while standing on a ladder compared to conventional RJ45's I have used. (NOTE: I used two on a CAT5e Cable and had two open wires which required re-crimping)
